Detailed description of the project:

The programme “Strengthening Innovation and Digitalisation in SMEs in BiH” included the project EU4DigitalSME to support the digitalisation of SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. To succeed in local, regional and international markets, SMEs in BiH have to increasingly introduce innovations and digital solutions. The project had four interlinked intervention areas:
● Improved sector-specific knowledge of opportunities through innovation and digitalisation;
● Expansion of the public funding instruments for innovation and digitalisation within the SMEs Policy Framework;
● Innovation and digitalization services;
● Strengthening forms of cooperation between the public and private sectors.
The project strengthened the capacities of business service providers for the adaptation of their services and business models to the needs and capabilities of SMEs to pay for such services. At the same time, it involved the actors at the macro level and provided advisory services for them for the creation of adequate framework conditions for the promotion of innovation and digitalisation in SMEs. As regards the micro level, it supported SMEs in developing innovations and digital solutions and the implementation of specific projects.
The project contributed specifically contributed to Output 1, aiming at raising awareness and creating sector-specific knowledge of SMEs regarding the chances that result from innovations and digitalisation. The project was divided into six components.
● Information and awareness campaigns via industry dialogue events
● Basic awareness-raising events on innovation and digitalization
● Webinars (possible workshops) on selected specific innovation and digitalization topics
● Practical trainings incl. e-Trainings on specific innovation/digitalization topics adapted to SMEs from different/similar sectors
● Promotion of project activities and dissemination of best practices
● Studies with SMEs from different industries

Types and scopes of services provided:

● Conducted information and awareness campaigns via industry dialogue events in Mostar, Sarajevo, and Banja Luka
● Organised several conferences
● Prepared awareness-raising campaigns and events on innovation and digitalisation, focusing on best practices
● Prepared a series of webinars and workshops focusing on key topics on digitalisation and innovation, including for women
● Implemented trainings and e-trainings, on specific innovation/digitalization topics
● Organisation of study trips for stakeholders to European Digital Innovation Hubs for dissemination of best practices
● Prepared studies from different industries on digital innovation of SMEs
