Description

The Delegation of the European Commission is planning to provide technical assistance to BiH in the development of SME policy and to support BiH in the implementation of the EU Charter for SMEs. Support in particularly will be provided to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Development of the
Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republika of Srpska SME Agency. Technical assistance will be provided so as to: improve the SME institutional framework; support the establishment and operations of a future Council for Entrepreneurship and Development; support the establishment of a
State Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development and the associated State-level SME Fund; support implementation of measures under the SME State strategy; develop a plan for a networked SME database system; support BiH’s attainment of the European Charter for Small Enterprises; support MOFTER in its preparations for future IPA component III Regional Development funds; support the development of functional coordination mechanisms between various government bodies in-charge of SME and regional economic development; and support the beneficiaries in developing and delivering a communications and publicity campaign that promotes the work and activities of the SME policy development conducted with government authorities.
