Description
Client: Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) c/- Hassall and Associates International.
Project Description:
- the AusAID funded Indonesia Australia Specialised Training Project – Phase III delivered training and assessment skills to the Directorate General Taxation (DGT) in a major modernisation program.
- this program was developed to improve service standards through improved training methodology. This required a better understanding of the importance of competency based training in ensuring consistent quality service delivery.
- this course was primarily designed to empower twenty DGT officers with practical knowledge and skills to:

- effectively develop competency standards and assessment in the area of tax services based on national and international best practice.
- become effective trainers and trainers of trainers to both deliver training on the new competency standards (and other subject matter in the future) as well as develop other trainers within DGT.

- three participants also came from the Indera Hospital in Bali – so that they could contribute to the improvements in the management and delivery of internal training programs at the Hospital.
BHI’s role:
- with assistance from the DGT, BHI developed customised course materials and gained approval for these before the commencement of training. Customisation for best outcome included: Australian Taxation Office (ATO) involvement in benchmarking best practice skills, designation of some participants DGT team leaders, field trips, action learning projects and incorporation of Diploma level units and change management units into the training.
- delivery of the Australian Certificate IV in Training and Assessment over 3 weeks in Bogor, Indonesia to 23 participants.
- successful delivery of the training objectives.
- logistics and Project Management including arrangement of the training venue; participant accommodation; participant meals, allowances and ground transport; and arrangement of a one day field trip in Jakarta.
