Standards for Solar PV Modules, Batteries and Charge Controllers

Project Description: The support to the NESP aims to create a regulated and standardised enabling environment for the deployment of RE in Nigeria. It involves landscape assessment through baseline studies, assessment of standards, certifications and testing facilities as well as the awareness creation and the development of standards and strategies for endof-life management of used batteries.

Services Provided:
• Baseline study of solar PV Modules, lead acid and lithium-ion batteries, and charge controllers, including value chain and stakeholder assessment in Nigeria.
• Assessment of standards, certifications and testing facilities for solar PV modules, lead acid and lithium-ion batteries and charge controllers.
• Introduction and development of additional standards for solar PV modules, batteries and charge controllers.
• Capacity development and awareness creation for stakeholders on solar PV components.
• Development of a strategic action plan for the environmentally-friendly and safe disposal of used batteries.
