CONTEXT:
This program is an exchange program of four weeks between the Lycée Français of New York and microfinance institutions in Senegal, Mexico, Argentina, China and Madagascar.
OBJECTIVES:
The program’s objectives are to offer an introductory discovery experience of microfinance directly in the field:
- A 4 week on site immersion
- Conducting a study for the local office of PlaNet Finance etc.
RESULTS / IMPACT (EXPECTED):
- Creation of a microfinance manual in Senegal
- Conducting a market study on microcredits in Argentina
- Conducting a market study for microinsurance products in China
- Several MFIs benefit from the program in China, Senegal and Argentina
- Produce a microfinance manual (Senegal); realize market research for a microsinsurance project (China); market research on microcredit in Argentina
- 1 MFI in China; undetermined number for Senegal & Argentina
