Scope of Contract: The general objective of this study is to develop a Comprehensive BRT Development Strategy for Addis Ababa City in the defined planning horizon (2030) that is socially, economically, financially, technically and environmentally feasible+251-1-383-12-79.
The specific objectives of the study include the following:+251-1-383-12-79
Develop a BRT Development Strategy in alignment with the identified transport and mobility objectives of the city.
Understand users' needs (market assessment) and develop BRT as part of the overall public transport network, showing how the BRT corridors will coordinate and integrate into the public transport network.
Recommend the institutional framework for planning, designing implementing and man-aging BRT systems, including the coordinating mechanism for high level decision-making support to implement BRT.
Identify further potential BRT corridors in the City.
Define BRT design typology and develop BRT Service/Operational Plans.
Assess the performance of existing BRT developments, the planned BRT routes (AACMP) and proposed refinements of BRT transport networks and land use plans.
Development of BRT Investment Scenarios
Identification and assessment of alternatives for bus rapid transit corridor development
Identify and review policy, address required infrastructure interventions and prepare strategic implementation plans.
Prepare technical, financial and economical assessments and implementation strategies for planned BRT Corridors.
Assessment and identification of capacity gap and propose training and capacity building requirements for implementation of BRT development Strategy.
Assessment and identification on gender/social and environmental issues.
