Description

Client: African Forum for Utility Regulators.

Project Manager: Jonathan Hedgecock

This project was associated with the development of Common Guidelines on Minimum Quality of Service and Reliability Standards for Electricity, and required the development of draft guidelines, the facilitation of a workshop with members of the African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the finalisation of the guidelines taking account of the workshop outcomes.

Description of Services Provided:

PPA staff were responsible for collating and reviewing the existing regulatory standards that have been put in place by regulators who are members of AFUR and drawing comparisons with international benchmarks.  A set of guidelines were prepared which act as a baseline for reference in all of the AFUR member countries, covering the core requirements of supply quality and reliability associated with generation, transmission, distribution and supply of electricity.
