Description
Name of Client: GOAL Ethiopia.
Name of Senior Staff (Project Director/Coordinator, Team Leader) involved and functions performed: Andualem Taye, Using PRA tools and techniques assist the community to identify their important problems to recover from the impacts of the 2001/2002 famine.
Conduct a day workshop at each site with staff of various relevant line offices to establish the level of assistance they can provide to the affected communities, how and to what extent they can participate in the recovery program and what kind and level of capacity building assistance they need to actively participate in the program. Later together with two staff from line offices and two staff of GOAL conduct PRA exercise to identify the impact of the drought on their livelihood assist the community to identify measures to be taken for recovery and the extent and type of external assistance required to recover from the impact of the drought, and increase their resilience for future disaster.
