THE SERVICES
    •        Procurement of spare parts and repair material for the water supply systems.
    •        Design and supervision of rehabilitation works.
    •        Management support to the water companies.

The activities of the project helped to sustain the level of service provision already achieved and to improve the financial sustainability of selected utilities which had been part of the previous project. The project further improved the water system's operation, mainly through the reduction of water losses in the distribution systems and rational use of water supplied. Furthermore, limited extension measures were integrated, especially for the supply of social infrastructures such as schools and hospitals as well as limited but urgent rehabilitation measures in the field of sewerage. The investment measures are supplemented by measures aiming at the improvement of the utilities' financial and operational management.

    •        Setting-up and up-dating of consumer register, reduction of illegal customers.
    •        Improvement and reorganisation of billing and accounting procedures as well as in the field of revenue collection.
    •        Investment planning.
    •        Design of a tariff system.
    •        Identification of further priority measures including the respective investment costs.
    •        Supervision of construction.
    •        Disposition fund.
