In November 2001, the Joint Venture ARGE Verkehr was awarded the contract for the design of landside accessibility in the framework of Frankfurt International Airport extension programme.
the services
Within the joint venture KOCKS CONSULT GMBH is responsible for the design of the following components forming part of the landside accessibility:

Outer Development:
Upgrading of cloverleaf intersection Frankfurt/Main at federal motorways BAB 3 and BAB 5.
    •        Additional lane from Cologne to Karlsruhe.
    •        Bridge alignment at Ellisrod.
       
Reconstruction of interchange Zeppelinheim at federal motorway BAB 5.
    •        Additional lane from Frankfurt/Main to Cargo City Süd.
       
Construction of a central bus station at Zeppelinheim and upgrading of road "Hurenschneise".

Relocation of "Okriftler Straße" including
    •        Upgrading "Okrifteler Straße".
    •        Construction of tunnel underpassing runway North-West.
    •        Construction of tunnel underpassing taxiway West.
    •        Construction of tunnel underpassing runway West.
       
Upgrading of federal motorway BAB 3 between Mönchhof three-way interchange and interchange Kelsterbach:
    •        From existing 6 lanes to 9 lanes.
    •        Bridge alignment in the course of "Okrifteler Straße".
       
Inner Development:
    •        Terminal access "Süd" for the new terminal 3.
    •        Service roads concept.
    •        Baggage processing tunnel between existing terminal 2 and terminal 3.
       
Due to the urgency of the project, the deadline for submission of preliminary design was 15th January 2002, final design was prepared in July 2004.
In November 2004 the completeness of the plans was given. Kocks Consult had to accompany Fraport as Expert for transport infrastructure for the duration of the hearing between September 2005 until March 2006.
In the following time several parts of the planning had to be brought into realization. For example a railroad crossing and a railroad cargo transfer station that was planned and supervised by the Kocks Engineers.
