Description
client DFID.
LATH managed the Support to Sexual and Reproductive Health Programme in Malawi between January 2000 and March 2007.
The programme supported the Government of Malawi in implementing an essential reproductive health services strategy by increasing national capacity to improve services for the poor, particularly focussing on underserved areas. LATH managed five full time staff embedded in the Reproductive Health Unit and allied agencies. Its key objective was to increase access to and utilisation of quality comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health Services. One of the features of the inception phase was to define the basis for an innovative and sound communication strategy that builds on the knowledge of how interpersonal relationships are expressed. The inception phase prepared for a national strategy for Behaviour Change Interventions for HIV/AIDS/SRH.
The implementation phase has operationalised this strategy within the context of an ongoing situational assessment methodology to ensure that the strategy remained active, informed and effective.
