Specific objectives:
To empower indigenous leaders and organizations to better participate in the interregional policy exchange.
To strengthen the intercultural dialogue between indigenous leaders and their organizations with state authorities at regional, national and local level.
To develop an interregional network involving indigenous leaders and their organizations, state authorities and strategic partners to influence public policies for the benefit of indigenous people living in Latin America.
Results:
Management, internal structures and capacities of indigenous organizations are strengthened to better interact with state authorities;
A development plan for indigenous people living in the region is developed;
Synergies between indigenous leaders, organizations and state authorities are created;
A thematic agenda with topics of concern for indigenous people is developed and broadly shared with the media;
Interregional best practice exchange is in place.
Target Group: Indigenous leaders and their organizations, state authorities, media, strategic partners and other network members.
Activities:
At national level: baseline studies, training manuals and trainings, exchange workshops, development plan/roadmap, meetings with media representatives
At international level: strategic research, thematic research, publications and evaluations.
