Objective: Moving Borders brings together a dance network, two dance houses and one museum to explore how the recent diaspora of female dance artists from Ukraine, and the migration of millions of children and women escaping from the Russian occupation of their country, are informing the approaches in welcoming and engaging refugees with dance, in the cultural life and in the development of inclusive and cohesive practices across Europe. Many dance and cultural organisations need tools to handle the arrival of forcibly displaced artists and civilians, they need to facilitate the exchanges within the local social and cultural contexts, the inclusion of newcomers and be responsive towards new challenges brought with the cross-countries movement of people. The main objectives of the project are to build capacities for dance organizations and museums to welcome dance artists forcibly displaced and to include new communities of refugees in the local ecologies; and to explore processes of professional and artistic growth and the building of responsive artistic communities across Europe. The project activities are International workshops, International meetings, One research and Dissemination Events. The main type and number of persons benefitting from the project are 1500 Dance professionals (artistic and management staff in the field of dance) museum professionals, female Ukrainian dance artists who moved to Creative Europe countries; and 400 Nonprofessional dancers: Ukrainian refugees, local citizens, communities and audiences. The expected results are several such as innovate dance practices to support the work of artists dance organisations and museums who engage Ukrainian artists and refugees; and new responsive artistic communities across Europe. The main type and number of outputs are also diverse such as 3 live/hybrid international workshops, 4 live /hybrid international meetings, 10 digital international meetings/workshops, 4 podcasts collecting experiences and storytelling, 1 online publication collecting the outcomes of the research, 5 Moving Borders Dissemination Events. The project Moving Borders will reach over 30000 people along the project.
