Description

The Nova Scotia Association of Community Business Development Corporations (NSACBDCs) and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) hosted a delegation of incoming food and beverage buyers from Colombia and Panama as they travelled to Canada to attend SIAL in Toronto in May 2023. Through a solicitation of quotation process, Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. was contracted to set up and facilitate the full B2B portion and all logistics for the incoming mission.

The intention of this incoming buyers mission was to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) meetings and tours with export-ready companies from Atlantic Canada, further strengthening linkages created during the 2023 in-market mission to Central America, also led by the NSACBDCs and ACOA, where Kisserup was the contracted matchmaker and logistics coordinator.

Exporters from all four Atlantic Canadian provinces were included in the B2B portion of the mission. The Kisserup team further supported the organization of a hybrid Free Trade Agreement presentation by the Trade Commissioners representing Colombia and Panama. 2023 is the 12th anniversary of the Canada-Colombia Free Trade Agreement and the 10th anniversary of the Canada-Panama Free Trade Agreement. The information session hosted included the Atlantic Canada's entrepreneurial ecosystem (private and public sector).

Kisserup fully met the contractual obligations and completed all the project elements and deliverables as per contract. This project was completed on time and on budget.

Highlights of Services Provided:

  • 31 B2B meetings completed between the buyers and Atlantic Canadian exporters
  • Six B2B meetings and tours completed at Atlantic Canadian exporters facilities
  • Coordination with Food and Beverage Atlantic (FBA) to ensure pan-Atlantic representation within the food and beverage sector
  • A Free Trade Agreement (FTA) presentation was given by the two Trade Commissioners representing Colombia and Panama to a group of Atlantic Canadian exporters, government officials, and trade and industry associations
  • Coordination of all logistics, including transportation, English-Spanish interpretation, and hotels within Atlantic Canada
