Technical Assessment and Design for the Rehabilitation of a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre in Jubaland State

The architect/engineer (consultant) is requested to visit the site before submitting the offer in order to get a more complete picture about the situation and condition of the site.

1. Architectural Design updates for efficiency and value for money.
2. New Structural Designs with consideration of foundations and structural members to the proposed design. 
3. Electrical and Mechanical reviews and updates on the new site where necessary

The planner is requested to submit a alternative layout proposals. GIZ coordinates with his partner which alternative should be implemented.

The architect/engineer (consultant) is requested to develop preliminary and detailed designs based on his own standard design , obtain permits and prepare the tendering for the measures of the classrooms.

The planner is asked to support the determination of the energy supply by creating a table of all planned consumption points for each room, building and plant.

Detailed analysis documents including a cost estimate for all buildings, plants and services.

Detailed drawings (architectural / electrical / mechanical / structural) and unpriced BoQ / architect’s estimate for buildings, outdoor facilities and supply.

Construction Standards:

The architect/engineer (consultant) shall ensure that all planning services and construction works will be carried out according to applicable international standards, comply with the National  Somali Building Code and have to be in line with the relevant guidelines of the respective Somali authorities, the WHO-standards as well as the ISO 21542 standards for the inclusion of handicapped persons and security requirements pre-defined.

Quality Assurance:

The architect/engineer (consultant) will support GIZ in ensuring the quality of all construction and related activities. This includes also all aspects of detailed construction design.
