Description

Strengthening Special Education Project was commenced on 16 March 2011 forn a duration of 30 months. The project is based in Ankara and covers 40 pilot schools and 28 Guidance and Counselling Centres (RAMs) in 10 pilot provinces.

The main results to be achieved include:
- development of policy recommendation on inclusive special education;
- increasing awareness for inclusion of the disabled in the society;
- increasing professional qualifications of teachers on special needs education in pilot provinces;
-implementation of "School without Barriers Model" designed for the learning needs and characteristics of each individual in pilot provinces;
- improvement of quality of educational diagnosis and assessment services in RAMs;
- improvement of quality of work and vocational training for the disabled individuals.
