Description

The scope of the contract is help improve the economic growth and development of the geographical region around the Chernobyl exclusion zone and improve the economic as well as the environmental situation of the area.

These objectives must be achieved through the development of a strategic programme for the socio-economic development of the Chernobyl region in the immediate vicinity of the Chernobyl exclusion zone. The programme shall be developed on the basis of a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the present situation in the region, and hence the selection of the most promising business activities to investigate. Activities in the field of environmental remediation and exploitation of renewable energy sources shall be taken into consideration and their potential development shall be critically assessed.

A market analysis shall be carried out for a limited number of the above activities, some of which shall be selected for further investigation, based on the assessment of their financial sustainability. A full business plan shall be developed for one of the options taken into consideration.
