Topic(s): DIGITAL-2023-DEPLOY-04-NETWORK-OF-SICs

Type of action: DIGITAL Simple Grants

Objective:
"The objective of the ""Safer Internet Centre Austria: Saferinternet.at, Stopline and Rat auf Draht"" is to enable the continuation and further develop the existing Safer Internet Centre (SIC) in Austria, through a national platform closely linked to the Core Service Platform running a range of Safer Internet services by providing: 1. An awareness centre (Saferinternet.at) for empowering children, parents and teachers and other professionals working with children to deal with risks they may encounter via online related activities and to make the best use of the internet and its opportunities, building on enhanced digital resource centres (repositories), from which specific awareness tools, resources and methods will be adapted and deployed, in cooperation with third parties (schools, industry and other partners). Saferinternet.at is integrated as an organic hub of services that support children with their specific needs and vulnerabilities. With the help of a variety of youth participation activities minors’ knowledge and experiences of using online technologies are pooled. 2. A hotline (Stopline) for receiving and managing anonymous reports and data on online illegal child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and national socialism (NS), conducting notice and takedown procedures with relevant ISPs and contributing to the ICCAM database jointly run by INHOPE and INTERPOL. 3. Helpline services (Rat auf Draht) that offer one-to-one conversations via telephone 24/7, online counselling and online chat services with trained helpers to give advice and support to children, young people and their parents"
