Objective:
Project aims to provide the services of Polish Safer Internet Centre which has been functioning since 2005 led by the consortium consisting of NASK and FDDS. Since then the Centre has worked to promote safer use of the internet and new technologies by children and young people as well as to make the internet a trusted environment for children. In order to achieve these goals the PSIC will provide: A) Awareness Centre, under the name Saferinternet.pl - comprehensive awareness-raising actions with participation of the youth and close cooperation with national and international partners. B) Online and telephone helpline services, offering support and advice for young internet users, their parents and professionals as two lines for specific target groups (116 111 – Helpline for Children and Youth; 800 100 100 – Helpline for Parents and Professionals). C) Hotline, under the name Dyurnet.pl – hotline for receiving and managing reports and data on online illegal content (esp. child sexual abuse materials). PSIC will continue to develop and disseminate resources and services dedicated to main groups of stakeholders: children, youth, parents, professionals and educators. It will also continue to organise training events including the biggest annual event for teachers and professionals International Conference “Keeping Children and Young People Safe Online” as well as “Digital Youth Forum” for young people. The Centre will also take an active part in the Safer Internet Day action nationwide as well as at the European level. Moreover, Polish SIC will organise nationwide awareness-raising media campaigns as well as educational events. PSIC will establish and maintain formal or informal partnerships and promote dialogue and exchange of information with key national stakeholders PSIC will contribute qualitative and quantitative data to the BIK Platform, in close cooperation with the pan- European network of SICs.
