Description

Challenge: One of the key challenges of Technical Vocational Education and Training in Kenya is upgrading of the poor practical training facilities, both in teacher training institutes and in the technical colleges themselves. As a result the teachers as well as the graduates lack technical skills and competences essential for the work place. Now, new materials are being provided for nine regional centres of excellence and a teacher training college. However, training in using this equipment is crucial.

Our solution: CINOP’s role is to train a core group of 60 Kenyan teachers and teacher trainers to work with the new equipment and make syllabi and learning materials more practical and skills oriented. The Kenyan core group has an important task: to train fellow colleagues at their own institutions, supported by a team of experts from CINOP. By providing the educational tools to the core group CINOP guarantees sustainability of project results.
