Description

To conduct an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) in order to evaluate the environmental and social effects of refugee settlements and project activities in Maban, Aweil, and Jamjang. This assessment aims to analyze the current and potential impacts on natural and cultural resources, including forests, water sources, and land use, while ensuring compliance with the African Development Bank Group’s Integrated Safeguards System (2023) and UNHCR’s Operational Strategy for Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability (2022-2025). The objectives include identifying and analyzing relevant national policies and regulations, assessing environmental and social risks, proposing viable mitigation measures, and developing a costed Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP)
