About this grant: This grant to the Flint Institute of Science and History will support the general purposes of the Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium. The new museum facility is around 107,000 square feet with permanent and rotating exhibits as well as educational and community programming. The Sloan Museum of Discovery opened in July 2022 and has seen record level attendance since that time. The state-of-the-art Longway Planetarium offers multiple shows and programming for all ages, both onsite and virtually. Summer camps, workshops and monthly evening events such as trivia nights are among programs offered through the museum and planetarium.
