Description

Chicago Commitment

Founded in 1915, the organization was established by local business leaders to support the residents of Chicago with grants to arts, social service, education, and community organizations. Established with support from the W. F. Kellogg Foundation in 2017, the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Endowment Fund, strives to unearth and jettison the deeply held, and often unconscious, beliefs created by racism. This award contributes to the endowment fund, facilitating an equitable recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in Chicago and increasing the presence of historically marginalized residents and their narratives in recovery efforts.
