Objective:
The RENEW-BOOSTER project aims at driving innovation and industrialization in three critical sectors that are vital for Europe’s green transition and energy security: Photovoltaics (PV), Offshore Wind Energy, and the associated Energy Networks. The consortium includes four energy clusters (Energy Cluster Denmark, Capenergies-France, Catalunya Energy Efficiency Cluster-Spain, Norwegian Offshore Wind, one ICT cluster (ICT Cluster Burgas-Bulgaria), and the Pomeranian Platform for Offshore Wind-Poland, collectively representing over 1,000 SMEs. This critical mass enables robust participation in the project’s support schemes, enhancing SME competitiveness and innovation. Building on experience from EU initiatives like Euroclusters ELBE, SUSTAIN, and eDIHs such as Oceanopolis, Move2Digital, and DIGIHUB, the partners bring expertise in project coordination, cascade funding, and SME support. At the core of RENEWBOOSTER is the Accelerator, providing tailored support for SMEs to identify opportunities and develop solutions, strengthening their role in the renewable energy value chain and enhancing resilience. The partners’ combined expertise in energy, digitalization, and innovation networks ensures targeted support through training, business process innovation, and access to EU networks like the Enterprise Europe Network and eDIHs. A quadruple helix approach, involving industry, research, government, and civil society, will boost collaboration, R&D, and industrial consortia formation. The project aligns with Europe’s strategic priorities, including reducing critical raw material dependency (Critical Raw Materials Act), advancing climate goals (Green Deal), and supporting re-industrialization (Net Zero Industry Act). Structured across four work packages—management, communication, innovation and supply chain, and green/digital transitions—RENEW-BOOSTER aims to empower SMEs and accelerate Europe’s twin green and digital transitions.
