Description:

The objective of this consultancy is to pilot inventory methodologies and study the estimation of emissions and emission factors from seagrass degradation in Eastern Indonesia which consists of the Sulawesi, Maluku and Papua Islands. By developing accurate emission factors and inventory systems for seagrass ecosystems, this project will provide critical data to support the inclusion of blue carbon in Indonesia's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and strengthen the country's MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) systems. The initiative is part of the broader Enabling Blue Carbon (EBC) in Indonesia Project, which seeks to integrate blue carbon ecosystems into Indonesia’s climate goals.
