Description
The purpose of this project is supporting the promotion and the territorial development and improving the agricultural production of the population of Sebastiya, a small north-western town near Nablus (West-Bank and Palestinian Occupied Territories).
The principal planned activities are:
- a training programme oriented towards Municipality of Sebastiya employees and other Valley’s Municipalities, focused on management of environmental resources and olive production. This training will allow the information gathering regarding firms and organizations involved with the territory and a database creation nearby the Municipality of Sebastiya.
- a training period in Italy, in the Apulian Region, oriented towards a mixed group formed by the administration officials of the different municipalities of the Valley of Sebastiya and farmers. During the travel are scheduled tours nearby the Municipality of Lecce administrations, other apulian municipalities, the University of Lecce and CIA (Italian Farmers’ Confederation). The travel will allow to know and to acquire new management and conversion techniques concerning the olive production.
- a training programme oriented towards 25 farmers involved in olive production and 25 women, from 18 years old to 45 years old, involved in wrapping.
- two public meetings oriented towards the citizenry.
- organization of an area designed for training activities. The Municipality rooms of youth aggregation center will be conveniently equipped with furniture and training and stationery aid.
