Organisation and implementation of training activities on the organic farming scheme under the ‘Better training for safer food’ initiative — call for tender No Chafea/2015/BTSF/01.
The contractor will cover the organisation and implementation of training activities on organic farming mainly in EU Member States.
During the first phase, 14 training sessions with a total number of 425 participants for the training programme shall be organised. The same training programme must be implemented during the second phase of the contract.
Detailed description of assignment:
The contract covers the organisation of a course on official controls (Regulation (EC) No 882/2004) of organic farming scheme according to the EU legislative and policy framework on organic production and labelling of organic products (Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products).
The course has two main objectives:
- to further improve the knowledge of the control requirements of organic farming;
- by bringing together participants from different Member States, to allow the exchange of experience and disseminate best practices for control activities and procedures;
thereby ensuring consistent and rigorous implementation of the regulatory requirements and contributing to increase the effectiveness of the competent authorities / control authorities / control bodies’ verification of compliance with the requirements.
The course will have theoretical and practical sessions, including field visits to organic farming producers in 4 different Member States, providing real examples of tasks competent authorities’ officers should undertake in the controls of these types of productions.
The contract covers the implementation of the course 14 times. Each training session will last 3 full days, and will be attended by 30 participants each, reaching the overall number of participants of 425 in two year period time.
