Name of Client: Department of Geological Surveys and Mines (DGSM) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), Government of Uganda
Narrative Description of Project:
The Government of the Republic of Uganda has initiated the World Bank financed "Sustainable Management of Mineral Resources Project" in order to promote the development of the mining sector at large and to encourage mining companies to invest in mineral resources in the country. Within this Project "Geological Mapping, Geochemical Surveys and Mineral Resources Assessment in selected areas of Uganda" is an essential component to achieve the main goal.
Description of Actual Services Provided by GTK's Staff:
Review, revise and upgrade of geological maps covering northern part of Uganda at scales 1:250k and 1:100k.
Mapping of selected areas of high mineral potential at scale 1:50k.
Geochemical surveys and ground Geophysical surveys in selected areas.
Mineral Resources assessments.
Training of the Client’s staff.
Equipment inventory, assessment and procurement.
Reporting
