The purpose of this work was to evaluate the impact of installation of the boiler of 10 MW using biofuel with a condensing economizer in Jonava town on the comparative costs of heat production of the district heating company AB Jonavos Šilumos Tinklai and on the price of heat within the period of 2012 – 2020. For this purpose, the current configuration of the heat generating sources and their possible reconstructions in order to meet the objectives of the energy strategy and to ensure the quality supply of heat in Jonava was assessed. Necessary directions and volumes of investment and the impact of potential restructuring on the economy of AB Jonavos Šilumos Tinklai and general heating costs in the period up to the year 2020 were also assessed. The assessment of impact of independent heat producers on the components in the price of heat of AB Jonavos Šilumos Tinklai was performed.
