About
The National Institute of Electricity and Clean Energies is a decentralized public body of the Federal Public Administration, with legal personality and its own assets, created by Presidential Decree.
We are a research center for the energy sector, dedicated mainly to the electrical and energy areas of Mexico. Our main objectives are research, applied innovation, technological development, engineering and specialized technical services in areas such as energy efficiency, planning and expansion of the national electrical system, reliability, security, simulation, renewable energy, automation, and new information technologies. We also carry out the commercialization and technological transfer of our developments, we offer training and updating to engineers in the sector and we grant academic degrees.
Our creation of INEEL obeys the need to have an organization that, closely linked to the electrical industry and in particular to the Federal Electricity Commission, contribute to ensuring the harmonious growth of the electrical sector, as an essential part of the economic development of the country.
