CARE Canada is a global leader within a worldwide movement dedicated to ending poverty. We are known everywhere for our commitment to the dignity of people.

To ensure that your support has the greatest impact on communities around the world—whether it’s saving lives in an emergency, fighting poverty or achieving social justice—our work follows three main approaches:
1. We listen to the women, girls and communities we work with. We help find ways for women and girls to be heard in safe and encouraging environments, and we work with men and boys to ensure there are supportive and effective allies for lasting change.

2. We bring people together. This means that we partner with local organizations, groups and individuals working in the communities we serve. They can be activists, medical professionals, farmers, religious leaders, teachers, governments, distributors. They are women, men and children. They have the insight, experience and trust of their communities that are invaluable to the work we do.

3. We support women, girls and their families to overcome the challenges they face every day and build more resilient futures. Where a community is vulnerable to natural disaster, we work with women and girls and their families to help them prepare and prevent future shocks. Where a community is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change-drought, flood and other harsh conditions- we help women, girls and their families to adopt new ways of coping.

By designing thoughtful and transformational programs that work to address the root causes of poverty and inequality, CARE is able to reach more people with the information, tools and opportunities that they need to change their lives and strengthen their communities.
