Engineers Without Borders

Engineers Without Borders (IUG) promote development through communicating engineering expertise to Norwegian aid organizations. Every year, we carry out a number of assignments worldwide for Norwegian development assistance projects, where qualified engineers are our contribution. In order to increase awareness and expertise in aid work, we also offer support for students who wish to write a development-related Master's thesis, Master with Opinion. IUG is a member-based organization, with partners in the Norwegian business and development sector. We were established in 2011 and are affiliated with Engineers Without Borders globally, through Engineers Without Borders (EWB). 

IUG does not run its own aid projects, but helps other aid organizations with specific assignments. We build assistance expertise among our engineers, which we then associate with the needs of the aid organizations in their projects. These assignments vary in scope and nature, and can involve everything from immediate crisis management to long-term development work. With our contribution, we want to help aid organizations to carry out assignments more efficiently, and with high quality. That way we can help more, better. In order to increase the commitment and knowledge of development assistance, IUG also assists master students who write assignments related to the topic.
