Associazione CIMEA

The CIMEA - Information Center on Mobility and Academic Equivalences carries out since 1984 its activity of information and consultancy on the procedures for the recognition of academic qualifications and on topics related to Italian and international higher education and training.

The main objective of the CIMEA is to promote academic mobility in all its spheres, facilitating the understanding of the elements of the Italian system and of the foreign systems of higher education and training and promoting the principles of the Lisbon Convention on the recognition of qualifications.

The CIMEA has an international documentation center and specialized databases on foreign higher education systems, on the types of qualifications of each country and on national legislation on higher education. On average, each year, via e-mail and free of charge, it provides answers to about 10,000 questions on the subject of recognition and assessment of qualifications to Italian and foreign universities, university students, professors and researchers, international organizations, ministries, research bodies and Italian public bodies and foreigners, institutions, companies and associations, Italian citizens, the European Union and all continents.
