In September 1941, the "Youth Centers" were set up. Thus in Lorient is located in the district of Merville an exclusively female center with a boarding school. These are young girls aged 14 to 17 who receive homework and sewing with a number of hours of general education.

In 1943 the center was bombed and found refuge in Ploërmel (56) near the Etang au Duc at the "Villa Goyat". There are at most 30 young people, always with sewing, home economics and general education as well as the EPS.

May 1972 : the college of female technical teaching of Lorient is baptized in the presence of Mr. Durand-Prinborgne, Rector of Academy, and Mrs. Pourdieu-Le Coz, director as well as many personalities. It becomes the technical college "Marie The Franc". It will then have up to 840 young people, mainly female audience.

1978 : he takes the name of Lycée d'Enseignement Professionnel Marie Le Franc.
