Public Company Strategic Electric Corporation of Ecuador CELEC EP / Empresa Pública Estratégica Corporación Eléctrica del Ecuador CELEC EP

CELEC EP being a Public Company and because of its scope of action, it is defined as a strategic public service.

Its purpose is the provision of electrical service and this must respond to the principles of mandatory, general, uniformity, responsibility, universality, accessibility, regularity, continuity and quality.

The main activities of the Public Corporation Strategic Electric Corporation of Ecuador CELEC EP, are the following:

1. The generation, transmission, distribution, commercialization, import and export of electric energy; for which it is entitled to perform all related activities, which among others includes:

to. The planning, design, installation, operation and maintenance of systems not incorporated into the National Interconnected System, in areas that cannot be accessed or it is not convenient to do so through conventional networks.

b. Buy, sell, exchange and market energy with distribution companies, other generation companies, large consumers, exporters and importers.

C. Buy, sell and market energy with end users in the areas that, in accordance with the Law regulating the electricity sector, are assigned to carry out the activity of distribution and commercialization of electric energy.

d. Represent natural or legal persons, manufacturers, producers, distributors, brands, patents, utility models, equipment and machinery in lines or activities similar, related or similar to those provided in its corporate purpose.

and. Promote, invest and create subsidiaries, subsidiaries, consortiums, strategic alliances and new ventures for the realization of its purpose.

2. Associate with natural or legal persons, national or foreign, public, mixed or private, to execute projects related to their corporate purpose in general.

3. Participate in international associations, institutes or groups dedicated to the development and scientific and technological research, in the field of construction, design and operation of electrical engineering works.
