ICLEI - Governos Locais pela Sustentabilidade (Local Governments for Sustainability)

ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability is a global network of over 1,750 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Active in over 100 countries, we influence sustainability policies and drive local action for low carbon, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular development.

Our Network and team of experts work together to provide access to knowledge, partnerships and skills to drive systemic change for urban sustainability.

ICLEI South America connects its more than 80 associate governments in 8 countries to this global movement. In 2018, to continue building strong supportive relationships with its associates, the regional secretariat opened two National Coordinating Offices, in Colombia and Argentina respectively. The Colombian office is headquartered by the Valle de Aburrá Metropolitan Area (AMVA); and in Argentina, it is headquartered by the Santa Fe City Government. Over the years, ICLEI South America has excelled in the development and implementation of projects on: Climate and Low Carbon Development, Resilience, Solid Waste, Purchasing Sustainable Publics, Urban Biodiversity, among others.
