About
The Social Support Fund ( FAS ) created on October 28, 1994 under Decree 44/94 of the Council of Ministers, is a government agency, endowed with legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy, to coordinate with other combat programs poverty, contribute to the promotion of sustainable development and poverty reduction.
FAS focuses its action on community demand, directing its activities towards social investment in the areas of education, water and sanitation, health, economic and environmental infrastructure. Its intervention is registered in the eighteen provinces of Angola, through provincial offices and antennas.
The implementation of the FAS relies on financial support from different sources, including grants from the Government of Angola, World Bank credits and donations from the European Union, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Italy, Holland, Chevron, British Petroleum, Shell, UNDP and USAID.
