The Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation is responsible for:

To fix the economic forecasts, to follow and to evaluate the evolution of the economic situation,
To ensure, with the assistance of the departments and agencies concerned, the elaboration and coordination of global and sectoral strategies and policies for development, and to draw up development plans and economic budgets.
To set sectoral policies and programs of infrastructure and human development in collaboration with the departments concerned,
To follow the projects of the development and to participate in the preparation of the budget of the State as well as the evaluation of the executed projects,
Prepare policies and strategies for regional and sectoral development in collaboration with the organizations involved, such as ministries, regional councils and relevant regional structures,
Implement and follow government guidelines in areas related to sectoral and regional development,
Design, prepare and monitor the implementation of regional development programs in all regions of the country,
To manage the regional development programs and the integrated development program as well as the regional program of the workers of the regional yards,
To prepare economic and sectoral studies necessary for sectoral and regional development and to support sectoral and regional private and public investments,
To promote statistical information in all fields, at national and regional level and within the framework of the national statistical system,
To conduct economic and social studies,
To strengthen international economic, financial and technical cooperation,
To prepare negotiations in the field of international cooperation and foreign investment with the assistance of the ministries concerned,
To participate in bilateral negotiations in the areas falling within the remit of the Ministry,
To conduct multilateral negotiations in the field of international cooperation and foreign investment and the conclusion of agreements and treaties related thereto.
To monitor the implementation of agreements and treaties in the fields of international cooperation and foreign and domestic investment,
To promote partnership and foreign investment opportunities through the support and assistance of investors in Tunisia and to increase the number of job opportunities abroad for Tunisian executives and experts,
To ensure the Tunisian representation in the periodic meetings of the international and regional financial organizations and the international and regional conferences of economic, financial and technical nature, and this, in collaboration with the other departments.
