The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is a United Nations organization that was formed to enhance international responses to complex emergencies and natural disasters. In humanitarian emergencies, OCHA organizes the worldwide emergency response to save lives and protect people. It promotes practical and moral humanitarian action for everyone with a structure built on measures such as humanitarian response coordination to help and safeguard people, the mobilization and engagement of the entire range of financial instruments, and the processes and partners to guarantee that rising humanitarian needs are met.
