The Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe has a rich and diverse historical and cultural heritage that needs to be known, preserved and valued. Historical, political and cultural factors such as: the emergence of STP as a territory; the history and dynamics of its settlement; the nature and character of his nationalism and the anti-colonial struggle that led him to national sovereignty; and its geographical character and location give the country its unique character. The relationship and internal dynamics of these factors have conditioned and will continue to condition the evolution of STP. It is up to the education sector to contribute to a better knowledge and appreciation of this rich and unique historical and cultural heritage.
