The Soil Service of Belgium vzw, founded in 1945, is an independent research and consultancy institution for agriculture, horticulture and the environment in the broadest sense of the word. Research of soil, water, crops, soil improvers, manure and fertilizers are among the core tasks. We advise daily on fertilization, soil suitability for perennial plantings such as grapevines or fruit trees, suitability of water for all kinds of applications, etc. With a view to optimal use of water, advice for irrigation control is offered day after day. Infiltration studies are carried out to find out where water can optimally penetrate into the soil. Environmental soil, water and sludge research, earthmoving, demolition follow-up plans, materials, nature development studies are an essential and growing part of our activities.
