National Water Supply and Drainage Board (Sri Lanka)

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) in Sri Lanka is a state organization that serves the island country by delivering purified drinking water and maintaining cleanliness. Its primary objectives are the investigation, planning, design, and construction supervision of water supply and sewerage projects using local funds and donor assistance. The goal of the Board is to improve the standard of living and to preserve the environment by providing access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities to the people of Sri Lanka for which it undertakes feasibility studies, cost estimations, and environmental impact assessments. NWSDB is the establishment of reasonable tariffs.
