About

A Christian humanitarian group called Food for the Hungry works to eradicate every form of human poverty by offering advocacy, life-altering development initiatives, and assistance in times of crisis. Since 1971, the organization has entered the world's most difficult regions with the goal of addressing human suffering and helping communities in abject poverty shift into becoming self-sustaining communities within ten years.

Along with South Korea and Monaco, Bangladesh boasts one of the highest population densities on the planet.

The country’s adult literacy rate hit a record-high level of 72.78% in 2018. At the same time, 24.3% of people live in poverty and 12.9% in extreme poverty. Moreover, underweight is seen in 41% of children younger than five.

Food for the Hungry started assisting the underprivileged in Bangladesh in 1972 by giving out rice. Since that time, the organization has concentrated its work on fostering community development, covering livelihoods, microlending, educational and healthcare opportunities, and emergency response resilience. It has worked together with Bangladeshi authorities and underprivileged people over the past 40 years to improve living circumstances.
