CESAN - Companhia Espírito Santense de Saneamento / Espirito Santo Water and Sanitation Company

A mixed-capital company, within the legal framework of private law as a public limited company (S / A), Cesan (Companhia Espírito-santense de Saneamento) has as its main objective the continuous improvement of the quality of life of the population of Espírito Santo.

Created in 1967 by Law 2,282, amended by Law 2,295 and regulated by Decree 2,575, of September 11 of that same year, the Company's main activity is to capture, treat and distribute water, as well as collect and treat sanitary sewage. According to Law 9.772, of December 2011, Cesan can also operate in the sector of urban cleaning services and solid waste management, in addition to participating in the control block or capital of other companies and forming subsidiaries, which may associate to other companies in the sanitation sector in Brazil or abroad.

Among its main activities, the Company conducts project studies, executing works for new installations and expanding networks, maintaining and selling services related to solid waste and the environment.

The State Government of Espírito Santo holds control, with 99.77% of the shares, while minority shareholders have 0.23% of the capital. The Company is present in 52 of the 78 municipalities in Espírito Santo. Of these, seven are in the Greater Vitória Metropolitan Region and 45 in the interior.
