MRF is an independent women and youth-led non-profit and non-governmental organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid, protection, education, and healthcare and community empowerment to Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Displaced people and underprivileged local Somali communities to achieve peace, security, equality, social justice and socio-economic development.


MRF founded and registered In Somalia in 2008 and its HQ Office based in city of Garowe, Somalia with field and regional/state offices.

A world in which all people live in peace, equality, prosperity and have equal access to humanitarian assistance, protection, justice, power, resources necessary to achieve their human potential.

Our Mission:

MRF is committed to promote youth and women’s rights in peace, security, protection, social justice and sustainable development by empowering and capacity strengthening through advocacy, peace building, conflict prevention,early warning system, community empowerment, education, training, capacity building and socio-economic development.

The MRF’s main office is based in Garowe, Capital city of Puntland State of Somalia with operational field offices in Puntland - Bossaso, Galkacyo, Qardho, Dangorayo, Burtinle, Baran, Eyl and Lasacanod.  It also has Regional/State Branch offices in Galmudug State, Hirshebele, South West State “KGS”, Jubaland State and Benadir region.

Since its establishment, MRF has successfully implemented many projects in collaboration with local stakeholders and international partners and Agencies. Implemented projects ranged from purely emergency relief interventions such as running Community Centers aimed at safe life general protection,Women, Peace, Security, Humanitarian relief, Protection, Peace building, Conflict Prevention and Early warning, Social Justice and Reconciliation, Counter Violent Extremism,Gender-Based Violence, Human rights and advocacy, youth empowerment, Migration, Integration, Refugees, IDPs, Displaced Communities,  Camp Coordination  and Camp Management (CCCM), HealthCare, WASH, Shelter, Food Security and Sustainable development in Somalia where affected by conflict, droughts, transition and closed political space.
