The Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development has among its powers and functions, to lead and coordinate the process of formulation, management, monitoring and evaluation of macroeconomic and sustainable development policies; to be the Governing Body of the National System of Planning and Public Investment and of the Ordering and Management of the territory; formulate the Development Strategy and the National Multiannual Plan of the Public Sector, including the necessary coordination at the municipal, provincial, regional, national and sectoral levels, to guarantee the proper global coherence between policies, plans, programs and actions.

Mission
Lead and coordinate the process of formulation, monitoring and evaluation of macroeconomic and sustainable development policies to obtain the economic, social, territorial and institutional cohesion of the nation.

To be an efficient, cohesive institution, with competent personnel, that manages the application of the instruments of the National Planning and Public Investment System, for a better economic and social development of the country.
