The Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation, set up by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and the Giuseppe Toniolo Institute for Higher Studies, manages the hospital activity of the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. Since February 2018, it has been an Institute for Hospitalization and Care of a Scientific Character, IRCCS, for the disciplines of "Personalized Medicine" and "Innovative Biotechnologies". Inaugurated in 1964 and named after the founder of the Catholic University, Father Agostino Gemelli, the Policlinico A. Gemelli is today one of the main Italian hospitals and offers assistance in all branches of clinical specialities, including urgent emergencies.
