About
The INJ is under the supervision of the Minister of Youth and Sports. Considering the need to effectively ensure the implementation of policies and programs related to youth, the Government (Council of Ministers) decreed, under the provisions of paragraph f) of paragraph 1 of article 204 of the Constitution of the Republic, the creation of the NATIONAL YOUTH INSTITUTE (INJ).
In carrying out its functions, the INJ is guided by Decree No. 2/2010, of March 8, of the Council of Ministers.
INJ COMPETENCES
– To support youth associations that develop activities in favor of youth;
– Participate in coordination with the competent bodies in the promotion of housing, employment and self-employment, education and vocational training for youth initiatives;
– Ensure the participation of young people in national development programs and projects;
– Promote the carrying out of studies and research work in the area of Youth;
– Create and promote mobility programs for young people (Youth Hostels);
– Promote the creation of communication and information strategies – HIV/AIDS prevention and Sexual and Reproductive Health;
– Promote partnerships for leisure time, volunteering and artistic cultural programs;
– Strengthen the capacity of young people to intervene and participate in development programs;
– Develop training and education programs for youth leaders and animators;
– Create mechanisms to stimulate and support the entrepreneurial capacity and spirit of young people;
– Develop youth exchange programs, participation in international organizations and in social and economic development projects;
– Ensure the collection, processing and systematization of information relating to associations.
