Balai Besar Sungai has the task of carrying out the management of water resources in the river area which includes planning, construction, operation and maintenance in the context of conservation and utilization of water resources and control of the destructive power of water in rivers, beaches, dams, lakes, ponds, embungs, and other water storage, irrigation, swamps, ponds, ground water and raw water and management of major urban drainage.

Function:

Preparation of water resources management patterns and water resources management plans in the river area;
Preparation of water resources management programs and plans for management of water resources in the river area;
Monitoring and evaluating the implementation / implementation of water resources management patterns and water resources management plans;
Preparation of feasibility studies and technical planning / design / development of water resources;
Implementation of procurement of goods and services and determination of winners as Procurement Service Unit (ULP);
Implementation of quality management systems and occupational safety and health management systems (SMK3);
water resources management which includes conservation of water resources, utilization of water resources, and control of the destructive power of water in the River Region;
Management of main urban drainage;
Management of the hydrological system;
Management of water resources information systems;
