Union Bank of Albania

Union Bank was established in Albania on January 11, 2006 as the second bank with Albanian capital. The head office is located in Tirana. It currently employs 349 people and has 31 branches throughout Albania.

Union Bank carries out its activity under the License no. 18 dated 9 January 2006, issued by the Bank of Albania to conduct banking activity in the Republic of Albania.

The start of its operational activity with customers is January 11, 2006.

Union Bank is a 100% Albanian private equity bank with its main shareholder Union of Financial Services Tirana (UFT) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) with a paid capital of EUR 17.6 million. Union Bank was founded as a 100% Albanian private equity bank and was created by one of the most successful Institutions of the Albanian financial system - Financial Union Tirana Ltd., representative of Western Union Financial Services Inc. for Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. The positive values and experience that UFT conveyed to its customers made it possible for Union Bank to expand its branch network in the Albanian territory in a very short time, opening 31 new branches in 3 years and becoming naturally the preferred choice of the Albanian customer.
